As a street photographer, Steve’s images often involve an emotional response to a subject and a strong sense of place. His practice is particularly interested in human interactions, means of communication, and navigating city life, while the images are often presented in a dramatic, nostalgic or dream-like way.

Since 2010, Steve has used the darkroom at Brixton’s Photofusion to develop photographic prints. They have been selected for more than two dozen group shows and he staged his first solo exhibition in 2021. His photography has featured in the Shutter Hub Yearbook, Black + White Photography magazine and the Masters of Photography online masterclass series.

Steve currently works as Global Partnerships Managing Editor at Monocle. His journalism career began after being named “Critic of the Year” at The Guardian’s Student Media Awards and has written for the likes of The GuardianMetroBritish Journal of Photography, Amateur Photographer, Black + White Photography, National Geographic TravellerNME and Time Out.
